Adding Another System
Through the community assessment review process, Rooted communities will identify a system other than early care and education to engage and develop their work plan around. For example, a community may bring in local pediatricians and OB-GYNs, child welfare workers, early elementary teachers to educate about their systems needs related to social-emotional develop and assist in developing ideas to support these systems in their long-term plan.
Throughout the planning and implementation process, the community will focus on their chosen systems and show coordination that will help them improve the overall well-being of children and families. The Early Childhood System of Care Community Assessment findings can help guide a community’s choice of systems. Once a system is selected, the work plan strategies will be used to define accountability.
