Community Work

Every Rooted Community must connect with local partners for the development of a long-term plan to support the social and emotional development of young children. Such a plan will include community assessment, systems building and the development of a process for coordination of systems and services.

Community work includes:

  • Creating or using an existing early childhood collaborative team

  • Exploring the need for additional partners (including parents) in the case of an existing community collaborative

  • Honoring community assessments that have already been done, and helping to collect and analyze data if assessments haven’t yet been done

  • Completing the Early Childhood System of Care (ECSOC) Community Self- Assessment focused on early childhood mental health (Rooted in Relationships will provide technical assistance to complete this and other assessments as needed)

  • Engaging stakeholders with a focus on the “whole child,” multiple family needs and integrated service delivery
